Final Fantasy XIII release date announced!

The release date for the North American version of Final Fantasy XIII has been announced. March 9, 2010 is the release date for both the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft XBox360 versions. From what I have seen the PS3 version is the one to pick up.

Most Anticipated PlayStation 3 game of 2010...

I am looking forward to the release of Darksiders for the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) which is being released on January 5, 2010. From the footage I have seen, I would suggest picking up the PS3 version over the X-Box 360 version. But then again, I am biased and prefer the PS3 anyway.

Oh, and by the way, Mark Hamill (aka Luke Skywalker from Star Wars) provides the voice-overs for a character in the game too. As most already know, he also provides the voice of the Joker in the Batman Animated series as well as all the games, etc.

Currently the only reason to buy a Nintendo Wii...

I am not a big fan of the Nintendo Wii console, but there is one game currently in production for North America that has peaked my interests. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is that game. In keeping with tradition, Capcom is releasing another "versus" fighting game. I would purchase a Nintendo Wii next year only for this game...

Top 5 Fighting Games on the Sega Dreamcast

The Sega Dreamcast (DC) had a large assortment of fighting games, many of them taking advantage of the Dreamcast's support for up to 4 players without the need for a "multi-tap".

Critics complained that the Sega Dreamcast Standard Controller was awkward and bulky. But I believed it to be one of the better controllers out there. There was always the Sega Dreamcast Arcade Stick which worked quite well with the majority of the fighting games available anyway.

Five games really standout from the rest of the fighters available. It was quite hard to narrow down the list to included only five titles, but here they are...

Star Wars: Death Troopers

Currently reading Star Wars: Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber. Probably finish it within the next couple days assuming I'm not overwhelmed with work, etc. Review to follow...

Sega Dreamcast

2009 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Sega Dreamcast (DC) video game console. Still to this day I consider the Sega Dreamcast to be the best console ever released. The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) comes in a close second. The Sega Dreamcast was the first console released in North America to have a "built-in" 56k modem with the opportunity to upgrade to a Broadband Modem. It also had the ability to connect 4 controllers to it without the need for a "multi-tap" accessory, etc. It also had some of the best launch titles to ever be released; Power Stone, Soul Calibur, Marvel vs Capcom, etc.

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (Sony PlayStation 2) Review

I am a huge Indiana Jones fan and I was excited to hear about a new game being released on the Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2). For years the game was hyped up to be the greatest Indiana Jones game to ever be released.

Well, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings was finally released this year. The game controls are sluggish and archaic feeling, as well as some major glitches in the graphics, etc. Hopefully the "rumored" PlayStation 3 (PS3) incarnation will be better...

Blue Stinger (Sega Dreamcast) Review

I was one of the many who waited in line to pick up my Sega Dreamcast (DC) after pre-ordering it.

It's been 10 years since that day and I still believe that the Sega Dreamcast is one of the greatest consoles ever. One of the first games I purchased for it happened to be Blue Stinger. Critics hated the game with a passion because of a few problems; sketchy camera angles at times, voice-over issues, etc. But that is to be expected at the time of any console launch. The game was a lot of fun in my opinion and it will always be on my "Top 10" lists.

Initial D (Sony PlayStation Portable) Review

If you can read and understand Japanese, Initial D: Street Stage for the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) would be a great addition to your library of games. Initial D is one of the better "arcade style" racers out there. It's just too bad it has to be imported to enjoy it...

Gran Turismo (Sony PlayStation Portable) Review

I've just recently picked up Gran Turismo for the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) within the last month or so. Despite some minor pitfalls, it's actually a decent game that will help ease anxious nerves of fans waiting for the release of Gran Tursimo 5 for the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) next February (that's February 2010 by the way...)
